This play sure didn't end up where I thought it was going. The shock of the final cascade of revelations is riveting and deeply unsettling. Martha's journey from annoying little old lady to steely agent of vengeance is the chilling core of the narrative. Noot a play for a queasy flyer, but a dark and slyly funny treat for the rest of us.

What starts as a comedy about mismatched seatmates on a read-eye flight gradually raises the stakes until all involved become aware that tonight's cross-country jaunt may offer more nightmares than sweet dreams. Dominica Plummer does an exemplary job of maintaining the humor in this short play while at the same time escalating the menace to the point where the ending seems as inevitable as it is surprising. Be wary of those that fly beneath your notice, there may be more to them than meets the eye.

Love the choice of two passengers on a plane as a setting for a stage play, the names Martha and Jazz, and the precise and mood-enhancing description of the time. And it’s a great plot device to have Martha going through her purse looking for ear plugs and coming up with something that it is quite the opposite. Dominica Plummer’s THE LADY WITH THE LAPTOP is a thriller that keeps you going all the way to the climatic finish!

An insidious and heartfelt revenge tale with a tremendously fun role for an older actor. Plummer's wit and dark whimsy are on full display here, and the twists and turns are not only just devilish, but perfectly paced. There are several morals here, but the biggest one is simply do not count out older women. They always have tricks up their sleeves. :)

Dominica Plummer has written a terrific revenge play in "The Lady with the Laptop." I especially enjoy the title character who enacts the revenge could be casually overlooked or patronized by the world because of her age and gender. It's added depth to this short play.
