  • David Hilder: We Are Not Dead

Compelling and dread-filled from the start, We Are Not Dead offers three full-bodied characters with clear wants competing to find the balance between mercy and mercilessness. Oh, and of course there's a creepy back story the is evinced clearly and naturally. Flavia is a great protagonist, and this is a terrific short play.

  • Aly Kantor: We Are Not Dead

Rich in atmosphere, history, and imagination, this haunting, high-stakes supernatural tale had me leaning forward from page one. I love the way the playwright deftly plays with power, shifting it from one character to another with masterful skill. Best of all, this play is spine-chillingly creepy without the need for any particular special effects. The magic and terror live in the minds of the audience. This left me desperate to learn what happens next, which is the sign of a fantastic short!

  • Amanda Schumacher: We Are Not Dead

WE ARE NOT DEAD is a deliciously chilling piece of horror, one that slowly draws you into its web. With its perfectly haunting setting and a creepy cast of characters, I wanted to stay in the rich world MacDowell Blue created. WE ARE NOT DEAD would make an excellent addition to any Halloween-set ten-minute play showcase.

  • Daniel Prillaman: We Are Not Dead

Onstage horror at its finest. Family curses, dark forces behind the curtain, delectable twists in power, I couldn't ask for anything more. This is a powerhouse of a scene for actors, succinct, chilling, and perfectly paced. I hazard many will find themselves drawn to it as the human mind is tempted by immortality. This would smash at any horror festival.
