What an unexpected gamut of emotions Accidental Roommates provides. It is a poignant and fun play featuring interesting characters, and their loving but complicated relationships. Amidst the harsh realities that most families experience, Brent Alles tells a heartwarming tale. This was recently produced near me, and I am so disappointed to have missed it!

This is exactly the family comedy I hear so many theatres begging for! Great roles for women over 40, relatable situations, easy to stage and FUN! This is a wonderful play that will showcase the best talent that often don't get a chance to shine. Read this, produced this!

Family dysfunction, female-centered, and mature actors. It’s a winning combination. As in so many families, there’s dysfunction, even outright hostility, on the surface. But there is a mother-daughter and sibling love underneath, and these women dig their way through to find it in the end. Levity lightens the painful digging and gives a nice balance to the story. Well done.

So so funny! Alles has done a wonderful job depicting maternal family dynamics in this play. Despite the conflict, there's enough levity and wit to make you appreciate your own version of crazy family members. And such excellent roles for older actors too- this is an excellent play!

The humorous dialogue and funny characters, will make you laughing out loud one moment and reaching for tissues the next. Accidental Roommates" by Brent Alles tackles aging, family dynamics, romance, and personal growth with sensitivity and humor. A must-read and see for anyone who appreciates smart, character-driven theater that entertains while also touching on meaningful life experiences. A delightful play.

I read through "Accidental Roommates" in one whirlwind sitting and was captivated throughout. The humor is gentle without being soft. The drama and characterization solid without no hint of heavy-handedness, if you will. And it's such a treat to encounter a play with engaging "older" characters who are so utterly . . . human! I'd love to see this on its feet!

Relationships with family are nearly always complex Brent explores those complexities wonderfully here. The wonderfully quick-paced back and forth between the characters carries the story on at a lovely pace and, as the audience you feel like you learn and understand more and more about these characters with every passing moment. Its a fabulously funny and emotional piece that offers wonderful opportunities to play marvellous characters!

Oh my goodness! An aging mother, her daughters and a granddaughter make up this cast. The dialogue is fast-paced, witty and biting, enhanced with a host of hilarious and surprising visual morsels. A wonderful script for seasoned actors.

A fun, comi-drama about families. Full of heart, the story centers around a woman, trying to maintain her composure as her aging mother moves in.
In an industry that is in desperate need for characters of a "certain age," what a joy it is to read a piece that not only offers several, but that are well-developed and not cliche. I'm looking forward to seeing the success of this play.

Circumstance after circumstance push the roommate situation through the roof. Well there is a roofing situation too. Evelyn is used to living on her own and then her mother, Christine moves in. A battle of barbs ensues drawing in her sister, Kathy and daughter, Marie. New challenges at every turn with Alexa, amorous roofing contractor Ken, Marie’s arrest and her boyfriend on the first name basis at the police station. Funny twists until there is a reshuffle of roommates. I think they aren’t done yet.
