A very funny look at just what art may mean to us in its many varied forms. Also, it's about what love and commitment mean to us in many varied forms. The ideas of that come together effectively and provide for a meaningful statement that paints six characters very well in the short time you get to know them. I enjoyed the "tonal shifts" and thought they matched the overall ideal of the play. A very enjoyable read!

OCONNELL’s one act “Painted Distraction” is a sweet notion to what it means to be truly happy when you’re with someone, even each other’s parents might not be. One odd, yet lovely piece of art can evoke many things in different people.
