A few scant years ago I had no idea what pickleball was. Now, I can’t go anywhere without hearing about it. This is a fresh, fun, witty play that delivers Shakespearean level machinations. The dialogue is crisp and natural while also uncommonly funny.

"So we're educators, not manipulators" is one of the great rationalizations of all time. Two women manipulate their partners into changing their styles of pickleball play for the sake of a friendly bet. It would be fair to say hilarity ensues. This is a very funny play, amusing even to those of us who have never so much as seen a game of pickleball.

To dink or not to dink. That is the question in this modern, and very funny, take on The Taming of The Shrew all woven into the "It" sport of our day, Pickleball. Ruyle takes us on a pleasant journey of discovery of whether or not old dogs can be taught new tricks. The best moments come in the friendships between the four characters, their dialogue so real and their outcome one that we are all care to see play out.

Including the stylized pickleball game scene that will have theatre lovers and pickleball players excited and talking about this show forever. What a great concept for a play!
