  • Ken Love: Wake up with WKUP

Screw-ball comedy or farce, Brent Alles' "Wake Up with WKUP" will keep you riveted and keep you going from beginning to end. Mr. Alles' sense of biting humor is on target. And engaging. Now when can we see it staged?

11/22/2024 - A riot from start to finish! Larger than live characters in a news segment where everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. Laugh out loud moments and lines from beginning to end. Would love to see this extended to a full piece. Well done!

Hysterical! The characters were all so distinct and I could read the relationship between each one. Very dynamic piece! Not only is it a comedy about a news broadcast, but also a work-place comedy. Would love to direct this piece with my theatre students!

Truly a fun and innovative ten-minute! I love how it feels authentic and like a spoof at the same time. The characters are random and ridiculous in the best way possible. This would be a really fun play to not only see performed, but to perform in!

A mix of being a live studio audience member at a sitcom, a listener for a whacky morning DJ (which is funny since it's about a radio DJ), and an audience member watching an outrageous comedy on-stage, this "Talk Radio"-like show is sure to please audiences with a unique, endearing experience that will surely make them laugh and asking all the most vivacious questions! Definitely a good piece for a small comedy troupe or for college students, etc.
