A Lovers' Quarrel

Lang presents an intense and realistic drama of a Black family living in the Deep South in the years immediately after WWII. As a forbidden relationship is pursued, family relations are put to the test. With rich characterizations and a fast-paced plot, A Lovers’ Quarrel successfully combines thrilling theatrics with a stark look at a shameful era. Well done!

  • Cindi Sansone-Braff: A Lovers' Quarrel

Set in 1946, a young Black soldier returns from the war with a less than enthusiastic welcome from his family. They are afraid that his past will catch up with him and them. When he falls in love with a white woman, these two star-crossed lovers become the victims of the Jim Crow corrupt and cruel criminal justice system prevalent in Mississippi. Well-crafted with well-developed characters and biting dialogue, this epic full-length drama is a must-see. Bravo!

This play packs a punch--you want to laugh, cry, scream at people's ignorance, and wish we talked about this bit of post-WWII Southern American History as authentically and truthfully as this playwright does. Lang doesn't hold back with a visceral and searing plot and unflinching dialogue that will make you think and empathize with each character's actions whether you want to or not. Produce this.
