A year later, Davy & their girlfriend Rachel are invited to a barbecue in celebration of Nate & Beata's anniversary, which happens to fall on the solar eclipse. They're the only guests who show up. As the sun is obscured, what is revealed?

A gloriously messy colossus of a play. Works examining genuine queer faith & progressive Christianity while also not softening the real trauma churches & organized religions inflict on LGBTQ+ people are few & far between. Even less so ones that treat their characters w/grace, pulling conflict less from their beliefs, but the struggle to find oneself & friends amidst the PTSD of being told to not be what you are. Cameron immediately announces themself as a talented, powerful writer. Incredible.

This is a fascinating 1 act that I would love to see a second act for - that dinner especially. Yes! I love the G-d stuff, the pressure it exerts, and there are some amazing lines I don't ever want to forget, lines I wish I'd written. This is wonderful work, great characters with deep dynamics between them. History that exists in every line in the subtext. Important work for so many reasons like how hard it is still for so many of us to be out and to be able to heal from the culture we live in.
