Recommendations of Goldilocks and the Three Bowls of Ramen

  • Greg Mandryk: Goldilocks and the Three Bowls of Ramen

This is a fun take on a classic fable (with cameos from other fairy tales) that would work well for younger crowds. It requires a fairly large cast, yet gives each character a moment to shine, making it perfect for schools striving to introduce children to theatre.

  • Anastasia Wild: Goldilocks and the Three Bowls of Ramen

Delightful and fun, this short play quickly engages the audience with sweet and sassy characters in a quick mix of traditional fables. With plenty of opportunity for young actors to explore comedic timing in bringing this silly fairytale to life, the audience is sure to laugh along from start to finish.

  • Janine Sobeck Knighton: Goldilocks and the Three Bowls of Ramen

A fun comedic spin on Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. I love the cheekiness that comes from the narrator (and how Goldilocks has her own power over them) and the silliness that comes along with the wolf. I also appreciate that, in just 10 minutes, the addition of the flower and the bird - and the insight at the end that she does keep her promises - shows the potential growth Goldilocks has from her encounter with the bears. So much potential for young performers!

An absolutely delightful and irreverent metatheatrical take on multiple fairy tales! Norkin spins a tale that young performers will love to get their hands on -- silly, madcap, but playing with (and upending) tropes they know well. So fun! (And look, who can't relate to the heartbreak of realizing your ramen noodles are gone?!)

Nutty and cockamamie and daffy, I have too much fun reading Norkin’s plays. And the young in the audience and onstage will agree. Give me a big bowl of ramen and Norkin, and I will live happily ever after - with birds (no worms) and and flowers,

Oh my goodness, I don't know anyone who writes 'daft' as well as Morey Norkin - that is not to say that 'daft' isn't a valuable and valued genre - this is hugely funny and inventive. Taking nursery rhymes and tweaking them to create a really entertaining piece of theatre for everyone is so clever. I love it. A triumph!

A fun fractured fairy tale with characters we know and yet...some fun additions, changes and lots of flexibility for staging. Bravo, Mr. Norkin.

  • Brent Alles: Goldilocks and the Three Bowls of Ramen

Very funny short play that kids will definitely get a kick out of (and there's some very funny jokes for the adults too!). Loved the contemporary twists and the allusions to other fairy tales. Young (or young-at-heart) performers would have a ball performing this and audiences viewing them would appreciate their efforts, I'm sure. A lot of fun!

    Now I'm hungry for ramen...
Morey Norkin gives us a true fractured fairy tale here that is delightfully bonkers. I always get a kick out of characters who interact, and in this case, sometimes contradict a narrator's best efforts. Kids and adults can sink their teeth into this comic retelling of Goldilocks and I think it would be a worthy addition to any short play festival.

This is such a fun, tour-de-force, take on Goldilocks! I love how the characters interact with the narrator and said Miss Lock's attitude throughout is hilarious!
Throw in some extra characters - a flower with feet (why not), a song bird who cannot sing and a completely missed placed baddy and you have the makings of a very funny short play for kids that adults will also adore.
Mr Norkin at his best, love it!
