Part satire, part biting social commentary, James Binz' "Weather Girl" is a harrowing tale of a woman adrift and desperately trying to find her moorings. The piece not only hits its mark, but draws blood. As works of this nature should.

Amanda's story is one that will make your heart ache! James has created a character who you can't help but feel for as she talks about her struggles in education and later in her career, and why? Because of her body and what other people think of it! I think its interesting that the time for this piece is listed as 'Any' because given what we know about the struggles of women in the TV and film industry both past and present, its a piece that could easily fit any time period and would still be a powerful performance!

You can't help feel for this weather girl, and many others surely. She's doing her nest to forge a career, she tries to reinvent herself.... but the corporate tv company holds her back.
This is an honest, heartfelt monologue and you feel for the protagonist. I do hope she finds herself a more fulfilling career.
    Great work.
