Tom and Bobby Love

We may be laughing, but it’s not funny. This dark comedy takes an eviscerating examination of the pressures and norms of navigating the modern, gay community. Well, at least as far as the straights would allow us. "Tom and Bobby Love" follows the intersecting exploits of three gay men, Ryder, the writer; Frank, the personal assistant; and George, the freshly outed construction worker as they navigate what it means to be a gay man and what we owe each other in our community. A comic morality tale told with the absurdist nature of Ionesco, Durang, and a little bit of Strindberg thrown in for good measure. And don’t worry, no one dies in this gay play.

TOM AND BOBBY LOVE is a hilarious look at the gay community, satisfyingly interesting throughout, and serious when it needs to be. Certain moments can be heartbreaking, much as life is, but you leave with a smile. Having produced this play at our theatre it was a quick sell-out and an audience favorite- highly recommended.

  • Tim Collingwood: Tom and Bobby Love

A wonderful and relevant comedy that peels away all the layers of gay living these days and does so with heart, flair, and glitter. It's beautifully campy and really does get the audience to think. It's a gem!

Tom and Bobby Love is a ROLLERCOASTER! You will laugh so hard that you're crying, but then you'll realize your tears have become sad tears because the characters are ripping your heart to pieces. The content is extremely poignant and thematically very relevant to current times. I wholeheartedly feel it is a timeless piece that people will always be able to connect with on some level, and it's a guarantee that people will leave wanting a huge helping of CHICKEN! Kudos David, on an excellent play.
