A spellbinding experience! Shakespeare, zombie lore and gore, effortlessly blended into a uniquely refreshing adaptation! Monica's implementation of this concept latches onto the vibrant spirit of Shakespeare while respecting the language throughout. For me, this script breathes new life into Romeo and Juliet's tragedy by embracing the stakes zombies have to offer. It made me love the tragic resolution even more. A truly refreshing take and gruesomely fun!

An ingenious concept that's executed very well by Cross. I kind of marveled that the original text remains so intact as some of the worst nightmares of Romero and Kirkman are sprinkled into the mix. That has to be commended as well, in terms of the surgical use of the undead ones to heighten the tension in a totally different way than the original work. This goes well beyond a gimmick and instead becomes an excellent and viable piece of theater unto itself. Bravo!

Yes, Cross' blood-drenched and gore-ridden adaptation is an homage to one of the greatest tragedies of theatre history, but she also slides the zombie tropes so neatly and efficiently into the classic work that you genuinely can't tell the difference (minus one or two delightful exclamations). It turns the story into something magnificently fun and intriguing, both analytically and practically, and I would fight through a hoard of the undead to see it staged. I can't overstate how genius it is.

To say this is clever is an understatement. It is sublime. More than a skewering of two very disparate genres, this is a marriage as tragically doomed as the titular couple’s nuptials. Thoroughly enjoyable, Shakespearean language intact, save some choice exclamations that are hilariously placed. Please someone stage this show!
