  • Emmet L.F. Cameron: revelations from the first and last ever rehearsal of THEY SAY I DID SOMETHING BAD: an unauthorized taylor swift parody musical about the life of the unabomber ted kaczynski presented by the bridgebrook college drama club

This play is feral & weird in a special way that only a play about very recent adults processing their relatively recent childhood trauma through the medium of theatre about whatever has crawled into their mind & is rattling around in there poltergeist-style can be.

  • Zach Barr: revelations from the first and last ever rehearsal of THEY SAY I DID SOMETHING BAD: an unauthorized taylor swift parody musical about the life of the unabomber ted kaczynski presented by the bridgebrook college drama club

A play that is simultaneously enormous in scale and refreshingly intimate, unashamedly cringe and apocalyptically serious, angry at the whole world and trying to find the worthwhile center of it. One of the better depictions of the emotional whiplash of being a young person today, paralyzed by both the unfairness of the world and the unethical desire to escape from it all.

This play has a lot of heart. It’s fun and familiar and deeply committed to all that it does. Great work, can’t wait to see it staged someday.

Courtney Taylor is a comedic genius and I think probably some sort of wizard too. This play makes you go "Oh" and then "Oh?" and then "Oh!". It makes you lean in in the best way. Seeing it as a staged reading was incredible. Sort of a Chekhov's Taylor Swift situation. Read it! See it! Produce it!

This play was absolutely brilliant. Part absurdist comedy, part treatise on sexual violence, part takedown of Taylor Swift and part exploration of the power art has to deal with trauma. I have my self laughing and being deeply moved at the same time. The ending is something I'll be thinking about for a long time. Great roles for LGBTQ actors.

Somehow a play that tackles themes of grooming and sexual violence made me laugh out loud as I read it. This play perfectly balances humor and grief, pain and laughter. As a graduate of a college theatre department, I saw myself and a lot of my friends in Riley and Cheyenne, which brought a comforting sense of nostalgia to the piece that is ultimately shattered (rightly) by the reality of sexual trauma. Wacky and heartbreaking, hilarious and absolutely necessary. Much <3 to Courtney Taylor.
