Recommendations of The Ho-Hum Possession of Daniel Prillaman

  • Paul Donnelly: The Ho-Hum Possession of Daniel Prillaman

The Ho-Hum possession proves to be witty and engaging. Life isn't all butterflies and kittens for Daniel P and his spirit doppelganger, but it is clear they can't get by without one another. However "meh" that getting by may be. Following Daniel's dawning awareness and their need for ... ah ... reunification is a wildly funny treat.

There were so many laugh out loud moments for me reading this play, and it started right out of the gate with the first line! You don't have to actually know DP in real life to enjoy the banter between Daniel and Daniel's spirit. This is the buddy comedy we all wanted and deserve!

  • Wren Aubrey Latham: The Ho-Hum Possession of Daniel Prillaman

10/10/24 | Instantly recognized the Prillaman name and had to see what was going on. Really charming and pleasant with a lot of fun stageability.

  • John Busser: The Ho-Hum Possession of Daniel Prillaman

09.28.24 - Never has ennui tasted sweeter. Scott Sickles shows us the inner and outer aspects of fan-favorite playwright Daniel Prillaman's eternal battle for maintaining his even keel. (And now with less kitten-eating than ever before.) Filled with Sickles' trademark humor and Prillaman's trademark indifference, this fun romp is an existential crisis for the ADHD crowd. (Points behind you) "Kitten!" Just read the play, it'll make sense.

Identity takes two forms: how we perceive ourselves, and how others perceive us. Why are there at least several plays & counting on NPX in which I appear as a heightened, but mostly accurate version of myself? It has to do with the latter. I can't tell you much beyond that, save that it is eternally humbling. And frightening! Sometimes our friends know us better than we know ourselves. But mostly humbling. If happiness be cheese fries, may this play, friendship, and writing always keep 'em warm.

Ah, this explains everything...well, nearly everything. Love this line: "People see this face and think, 'not creepy' and I’m always like, 'Yeah? Hold my wine cooler!' " (Sept 24, 2024)

  • Steven G. Martin: The Ho-Hum Possession of Daniel Prillaman

It's finally been done. Scott Sickles has perfectly described what it feels like to have a soul. Definitely it's not heroin.

"The Ho-Hum Possession of Daniel Prillaman" is a fun, metaphysical short comedy featuring everyone's favorite Daniel Prillaman (and his ever-so-slightly more chipper soul). It's a brisk, airy, light, thoughtful, and fun. [24/09/24]
