This play so perfectly depicts the big, chaotic nature of girlhood, where you give all of your heart to everything: to friendships, ambitions, unfairness, student government, love, and, when needed, solving crime. And yet, despite the uncontainable energy that spills out of this play, its characters are meticulously true with tender stories to share. When it premieres in Colorado, I’m seated.

I absolutely loved the relationships between the three friends in this play. Such strong yet vulnerable, dramatic yet authentic, and ultimately compelling characters!

This play is a wild and wonderful ride from start to finish! I laughed, I screamed, I couldn’t take my eyes away! Phanésia pulls you into these girls’ world with nuanced writing, vibrant characters, and a deep exploration of Latina girlhood.

Phanesia Pharel captures all of the complexity, fanaticism, yearning, and determination of young folks in this layered piece. At its center are several nuanced characters who we all get to know well by the end of the play and who we all root for in some way (in all their quirkiness). Salma, as the dogged galvanizing force in the play, is a compelling nucleus. I also so appreciated the exploration of colorism within the Latinidad.

A fresh entry into the growing canon of plays about teenage girlhood, Pharel's true-crime-drenched story delicately depicts how the experiences that these girls share can also tear them apart from each other. The play's ending feels both surprising and satisfactorily hopeful, and the friendship the characters maintain for each other serves as a powerful throughline.

A beautiful darkly comic story that centers Latine teenage girls in a captivating and nuanced voice, shedding light on the innocence of youth without shying away from exploring the dire consequences of unchecked toxic masculinity. The twist in the play is unexpected and heart wrenching yet so beautifully woven into the story. I cannot wait to see this play staged.

I really dug this play. A play about how powerful teenage girls can be. I loved how true crime obsessed this play is and I love it becomes something completely different by the end. This is a play about making it through a dark and insane world. This play features amazing roles for young Latina actresses.
