Situation comedy is hard. Creating this much confusion and comedy in ten minutes is even harder, but Satta pulls it off in this hilarious short play. When this was read at the Midwest Dramatists Conference, the entire room spent ten minutes laughing non-stop!

This is a great comedy piece. The jokes fly fast and just get funnier. While I was watching the delightful reading of this play in Kansas I had to wonder: Can the writer possibly keep this up until the end? Delightful.

While Steven Satta gives away a bit of the play with his tip-off of "Who's On First," I still loved the way it played out because it sounded less like a comedy routine and more like the often-encountered nervousness when two people meet up and find themselves tongue-tied by their overwhelming sense of attraction and hope that something good will happen. These three natural characters make it a joy to watch.

I saw this play be read at the Midwest Dramatists Conference this year! I absolutely fell in love with the characters and how funny this play is! Steven Satta sure knows how to make a memorable and silly gay play! Awesome work Steven!

Satta's wordplay and wit is second-to-none. Mistaken identity, vibrant characters, and punchy dialogue make for ten straight minutes of nonstop fun. Satta also proves to be masterful at setup and payoff - one of the funniest plays I've seen in awhile, but also a layer of heart. Wonderful work!

I saw this script as a reading at the Midwest Dramatists Conference. What a brilliantly written, comedic play! So much fun! I laughed out loud all the way through the script! We need this type of comedy in our lives regularly!

08.29.25 - As a huge fan of "Who's On First" I took great delight in this comedy of swings and misses taken by Nick as he constantly lagged two steps behind Richard and especially, "Babe". Steven Satta kept putting great setups over the plate with the characters connecting with hilarious punchlines. This would be great to see with a cast able to banter as sure and quick-witted as Abbott and Costello did. Makes you wonder who's gonna get to "THIRD BASE!"

  • Robert Weibezahl: Fire Escape

A brilliantly constructed short play about assumptions and perceptions, reminiscent of the classic sex comedies of the 1960s … but with a definite modern-day twist! In the hands of three attractive, comic actors, this play will supply both the laughs and the heat at many a 10-minute festival.

What a fantastic show about assumptions and the speed with which we react to things being said. Okay, that's a more wordy explanation than the "who's on first?" analogy in the description. It's fast-paced and so much fun. Confusion, intrigue, ah-ha moments, and more in this situational comedy by Steven Satta. A True treat and during Fleet Week, non-the-less? Just a lot of fun! Highly recommend.
