This short is gorgeous! So simple and small at the same time as it’s complicated and big. The conversation that these two exes have after running into each other after 30 years feels so true to life- stories of dreams achieved and unrealized during the time they were apart, comments on how they no longer look the same as they did when they were younger. I love it. And I especially love the hopeful note. Even in our older years, there are possibilities.

All the possibilities of what might have been if we had taken the other road when we come to those forks in them. Two men on very different paths meet up again 30 years after their last met and this beautiful play deals with the possibilities that may have been and still could be even though age and time may have changed both, there might still be a spark that is there to relight the flames that have dimmed but obviously not gone out.

Such a beautifully written short play that packs a lot into it. Decades have passed, and yet, these two aging ex-lovers find themselves unexpectedly meeting, and it seems that no time has passed. This well-crafted play tackles some big themes like it takes courage to be yourself, and if we got a second chance with a lost love, would we get it right this time? Donnelly is a master craftsman and I loved his fast-paced, witty dialogue. A great read that would stage beautifully.
