This play is incredible in its intimacy, honesty, humor, and compassion. Two people find each other at a graveyard, mourning their loved ones and form a bond informed by humor and the needs unaddressed from those they lost. I laughed. I cried. I thought deeply about my own relationships with my child and father. And what more could you hope for from a play?

A deeply honest, witty, and bittersweet script that struck me to my core. Ernest and Max's multilayered dynamic is captivating, and brought me to tears! The way that information unwinds throughout the script, with small details and reveals appearing at just the right time, is absolutely superb, and done with a wonderful deftness and nuance by the author. A play about carrying weight and living with death - in the most heartbreaking yet hopeful human ways.

Had the pleasure of seeing this piece in the semi-finals and finals of the OOB Festival! Witty, heartfelt, and vulnerable, Roni did an incredible job at helping the audience get to know and deeply empathize with Ernest and Max in just a few pages. It's an beautiful exploration of grief, family, and our capacity to evolve as people.

This play is so tender! A perfectly balanced exploration of loss and imperfect fathers that asks whether or not atonement is possible after it’s “too late” for the person you wronged to forgive you. I loved the characters, the setting, the humor, and the tragic yet hopeful ending.

A really sweet and funny short play that I found very moving. A play about death and how that changes how we feel about the people we cared about. Ernest could have been a better father and he's really trying to make up for it now. Max never really knew his father and he is doing his best to honor him in death. These character definitely get off to the wrong start but it's nice to see them grow into being friends. This play has great roles for a younger and older actor.

Ragone is a master of turning a belly-laughing joke on page 2 into a pure gut punch on page 10. With lovable, flawed characters at the center, we beautifully dive into topics of the "right" way to grieve, parent/child relationships, and the forms acceptance takes all in 10 minutes. (With a fantastic opportunity to showcase an older actor). Absolutely brilliant.
