In this fun and outrageous retelling of the Parable of the Drowing Man, Christopher Plumridge presents us with a gleefully obstinate would be Noah who is either far to faithful or far too lazy for his own good. In this debate between the credos "My god will save me" and "God helps those that help themselves" the real winner is the audience.

Plumridge gives us a hilarious modern-day retelling of an Old Testament story we all know, a stubborn character (Samuel) who believes his wisdom exceeds all others (including his wife, the meteorologists, and a virtual slew of other professionals), an unexpected outcome during which Samuel is surprised to meet his maker, and finally a lesson on faith learned. It would be amazing to see this play staged!

A wonderful old joke shown in all its glory. A radio drama that would be fun to listen to and imagine. Christopher Plumridge creates an Old Testament world that teaches us a parable of great importance. Nicely done.

If Christopher Plumridge had written the Bible… God help us! In this hysterical version of the great flood, we have Samuel, a procrastinating Noah wannabe, shown in one hilarious scene after another. How this comes to life on stage is anybody’s guess, but I would sure as heck love to see it!

11.11.24 - Now THIS is a play I'd give good money to see staged. Just to watch the set designer have a meltdown. Beyond that, Chris Plumridge gives plenty of good laughs along the way as stubborn old Samuel denies all help because he knows the Big Guy has his back. Talk about not being able to see the forest for the trees. A wonderfully bonkers stage realization would make this a hoot to watch. Although the aforementioned Big Guy might be the perfect gent to call on to stage it, rain and all.
