Funny, romantic, and honest, Muccia pulls no punches here as she navigates the painfully relatable struggles of a woman who can't give herself permission to move on from an unrealized relationship. Liv is a complicated, anxious mess of a protagonist who takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions that take her to some unexpected and sometimes fantastical places before ultimately reaching something close to closure. It's a ride you'll be glad you got on.

A reformed theatre kid, she’s supported by forever friends, trying to navigate the world, and her place in it, after accepting a broken heart. She is on a journey to define herself outside of her mind’s constant intrusions, unlearning to adapt to worlds around her, and people please. The name Robert in any form is triggering.

  • TJ
TJ : Robert Thomas St. James
    Male : 20s-30s
TJ is incredibly intelligent, while being incredibly sarcastic, cynical, introverted, a know it all, and yet sensitive, loveable and endearing. He is seen through multiple stages of his life (ages 15-28). He is a toxic ex that Liv can easily forgive, but for others, they truly don’t get the fascination. Real Life TJ is never seen onstage; we only see the “ghost” of TJ that Liv has manifested from her memories of him. She has created this ghost.

Liv’s roommate and life-long best friend. A staunch feminist, blunt, and outspoken with a heart of gold. She is just as depressed about being in her mid-20s, but works through this, taking action to not fall into these thoughts. Relationships beyond her friends don’t matter to her, but is a softie and if you can get beyond the harder exterior, she’s the truest friend you can ask for.

  • Cannon
    Cannon : Robert Cannon Hughes
    Male : 20s-30s,
Student Teacher with Tish getting his Teaching Credential. Cannon and Liv have a shared passion of how theatre education can impact people, and he is drawn to her, in a way he can’t really explain. He is on a fixed path : school, teaching, moving forward. He knows what he wants emulating the good side of ambition. He may be more naive about the murkier sides of life. Emotionally mature, and in many ways, the antithesis of TJ, but is that a good thing?

Elle is a devoted friend to Nat and Liv, no matter if they necessarily have as much in common with them. Awkward and sweet in the best way, and true to themselves always. Here for a good time, maybe not a long time, if it’s not in the stars. Think: Phoebe Buffay vibes.
