    I laughed so I wouldn't start weeping.

This timely monologue is pitch-perfect satire that I wouldn't be surprised to overhear on the news. I think my favorite part was the "quote" from the piece's unnamed president (wonder who it is!), which I attempted to read aloud in a press-conference monotone. I couldn't do it without laughing, which is one of the biggest compliments I can offer! The character voice is specific and flawless and the logic is painful and prescient! What a gut-twister!

This monologue is a perfect holiday satire for our times! I have so many favorite lines that I don't even know what to single out here. This is so darkly comedic and such a spot-on skewering of the current state of US politics. I love every word! What a fun change of pace this would be in an evening of holiday plays.

The absurdity and paranoia in the current political scene is well captured here. Jennifer O'Grady has an ear for this character's speech patterns and the premise is sturdy enough for our times. There is, of course, that strong smell of satire throughout and we can see and sense the menace of a new world.
