It's been a while...a wee while too long for my liking! But ahhh, was this just so worth waiting for. Vivian uses weather as metaphor, analogy and scene setting. As ever, her characters are layered and believable. A sweet little morality play, and, as one of my fictional heroes would say..."Sublime...chust sublime."

12.2.o04 - Ada's picking on her younger sister, Maddie, again - this time for talking about the weather. Well, Maddie's got some news to casually drop and she heads off her sister from any dissing her. In fact, Maddie has a thing or two to say herself. This is a sweet play about how sisters can always learn from each other and Lermond has once again nailed two very real characters. We might think they remind us of an aunt or two... or maybe it's ourselves!

12.01.24 - There's not only a calm after a storm, there's also a sense of a new beginning. Ada is readying herself for this. No more watching life from under the shelter of the familiar. She wants to join Maddie in the sunshine. What a wonderful message from Vivian Lermond's short play. Vivian always writes from a place of authenticity. Her characters sound like people we know. That's what makes her work so relatable. And yet, we're never retreading old ground. We feel like this is new territory
