Ah, the antics of high school supers. Monica has given us an action packed look at the life of unlikely heroes hoping to secure a meaningful partnership. This is a delightful short okay that truly makes me want to see the costumes of Tuba Biy and Viola Girl.

An excellently imaginined short play with charm to spare, Monica Cross' TUBA BOY places us into a novel, whimsical setting with young superheroes that are more Batman than the Avengers. Cross has laid the foundation for a world rife for exploration, with so many potential characters and scenarious that I am positively vibrating with anticipation! Perfect for young audiences and actors.

This is one of the best stories where great friendships are born! Superhero kids who play instruments and eventually form a band together is something that would be very fun for actors to do! Monica Cross has created a fun and wonderful story that would be fun for young audiences and band geeks alike! Nice work Monica!

The idea that band kids could form a League of Musical Justice is absolutely the coolest thing to envision for those who get no respect from the so-called Kool Kidz. Monica Cross has the perfect set-up for the story and hits all the right notes. I am sure that when word gets out that there's a short play for them and does everything to lift them up, they'll take it from the top and have a great time, and so will the audience.

Cross sets imaginations spinning with this fun band member-superhero school play that would be a hit with youth performers across the globe, particularly those lugging around large brass instruments. Selfishly, I hope Cross does more within this universe - I want to know EVERYTHING about Upright Bass Kid!!!
TUBA BOY was one of the more popular titles offered during a recent Secret Santa title swap. Cross took it, lived up to the promise and more than made it her own.

I am obsessed with the subtle worldbuilding in this play, which introduces us to a high school attended by young superheroes...but with its fair share of drama kids and band geeks roaming the halls! Why should the jocks have all the fun!? It's charming and theatrical, with fantastic opportunities for stage combat INVOLVING A TUBA, which should, frankly, tell you everything you need to know! It's delightfully silly and over the top but still reaches a charming resolution! Sign me up for the band!

Just adorable! Wonderful characters! So much fun to create and bring to life. This will be the script student actors will be fighting to be a part of!

I love this concept of musicians as superheroes! This sweet and silly play is full of clever dialogue and wonderful opportunities for physical comedy. It would be a blast for three young actors!
