Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend's DAYDREAM is an inventive and hilarious antidote to family gatherings at the holidays and especially now (as in December 2024, though this is a play for all time). Who among us can't relate to Heather? I'd say nobody. Collaborators would have a blast with this script--even the stage directions are a joy to read--and I'd love to see it staged. So well done!

A Tale for our times. How many Thanksgiving dishes have been scrubbed and lovingly pawed over in an attempt to avoid the unwanted conversation in the other room. The fantasy characters are hilarious and the real characters are a true slice of life. A great premise very well done.

So, tell the truth: what do you daydream about when you're doing something mundane such as washing the Thanksgiving dinner dishes and the family is still in the dining room chortling over the election? If you're Heather, you are whisked away to a fantasy world of well-muscled heroes who fight for your affection -- with consent, of course -- and you are the ruler of a fair and just land. Is this "The Princess Bride" or "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"? Begone, dull world! Gummies for all!

OMG I HAD SO MUCH FUN READING THIS PLAY!!! Heather is literally me at family events or the holidays as I too dream about hot and sexy men lol! I would absolutely love to be able to see or direct this piece some day! The characters are so fun to work with and the transitions from the daydream world to the real world are so spot on! I also appreciated the fact that Florian and Briar asked for DD Heather's consent and that they are both so kind and genuine. Never forget the gummies! Bravo Lisa!

With hilarious juxtaposition of the mundane reality of domestic life during the holidays and the romanticized, sensuous pleasure of fantasy romance, Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend's DAYDREAM is a short that is sure to have audiences cackling. I appreciate how the lovers in Heather's fantasy demonstrate that the hottest thing about sex is consent (not to mention remembering the miracle gummies.). A hilarious short that truly hits home!

Whether or not you dream of being seduced by a tender satyr (with consent!), there is something to relate to in this wish-fulfillment comedy, in which one woman's simple desires are fulfilled twice over... in her dishwashing daydream. I LOVE it when the climax of a play is a literal climax, and this one will have you cackling, even as you internally weep for your own low, unmet romantic and sexual standards. The dichotomy between the fantasy and the kitchen scenes is a hoot! Fantasy-tastic!

As a longtime daydreamer I can attest to the truth in this story. Boredom is probably the main trigger to cerebral escape.The contrast between a humdrum existence and a mythological drama couldn't be better written. The humor in this suggests we not take the dreams too seriously. We might never come back from dreamland.And who would wash the dishes?

How did Florian And Briar find their way to Heather's daydream?! They swore I was...I mean, wow! What a relatable, funny play about surviving the holidays! A girl can and SHOULD dream! And the dishes are a great place to escape.

Everyone's Thanksgiving would be much-improved with a particularly spicy dish, and boy does Dellagiarino Feriend deliver. BETTER YET, this dish is also hilarious and all-too-true, as it comes tinged with post-election melancholy and in-laws and spouses who forget important necessities to make those in-laws bearable.
Plenty of heart, grumbling and zest make this an absolute-must addition to any holiday play festival festivities. Your audiences will give thanks.
