I want to be clear and honest right out of the gate. I adore ANYTHING written by Scott Sickles, and THERE’S NOTHING TO SEE HERE
SO JUST MOVE ALONG ALREADY! is no exception. The characters: clear and charming. The dialogue: sharp and witty. The pacing: perfection. This two-handed MUST be produced. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

What a fantastic ten-minute play! I love how the history between the two characters unfolds and surprises us while they're examining a (bloody but very funny) "crime scene." I also love that it's set on Christmas Eve, making it a surprisingly lovely and heartfelt holiday play as well as a wonderfully unusual one. Audiences would love this!

Leave it to Scott Sickles to turn a bloody murder scene into a tender lovers-to-friends comedy! "There's Nothing To See Here So Just Move Along Already!" may seem overly defensive at a glance, but dig a bit deeper and you'll find it disarmingly sweet and convincingly procedural. Another excellent short from the master of meet cutes and unconventional romance.

  • Morey Norkin: There's Nothing to See Here So Just Move Along Already!

For all its gruesomeness, this play is at heart a tender holiday story. As two veteran investigators with a personal history theorize over a crime scene, their easy banter about turkey stuffing provides an unexpected but welcome counterpoint to the grisly scene. A unique, touching, bittersweet tale for those of us who like a little gore added to the holiday mix.

I love the layers her in the mystery, in the couple, in the stuffing. (Some are better than others.) Christmas Eve, a grisly body, a lonesome man, a lonesome couple and somehow Sickles finds a sweetness to tie it together along with some pretty physical gymnastics that can cause your demise. An original Christmas offering with a touch of Christmas Past and Christmas Present. No sugarplums but a bit of poignant small bites.

Grisly stuff sprinkled on the core of a very human, grown-up story of people who have grown apart but still like one another. There are lots of levels to enjoy in Sickles' short play.

Come for the reliably great Sicklesian characters, whose relationship and backstory are so rich and fascinating, but stay for the absolutely bonkers mystery. This delightful two-hander is funny and heartbreaking as only Scott Sickles can do. Bravo!

A clever whodunit with a Sicklesian twist, this witty holiday crime-scene puzzlebox doubles as a lovely, wistful contemplation of love, loss, and moving on. Scott Sickles' ability to juggle wildly disparate elements - slapstick gore, hard-boiled cop patois, and aching family drama -- is on full display here. A holiday delight.

Love the jabs (sorry) about the stuffing, the knife cutting skills, the Casablanca allusion which instantly sets the tone ...and how weird is that!? I was just saying the other day that in the case of an emergency (ie my death) just hold the phone up to my face... and yes, it's flippant, it's poignant and it's funny. A howlingly good holiday short.

DICK WOLF, CALL SCOTT SICKLES' AGENT ASAP!
In any other writer's hands, this would be merely a homicide investigation. Or a dramatic, tension-filled meeting between two exes who aren't quite happy about how things ended or where they now stand.
With Scott Sickles, though, you get both. And it's hilarious and heartfelt, gruesome and tinged with holiday melancholy. Would love to see Bill and Pats' love story play out across a dozen tragic death scenes.
