I loved reading this play. The dialogue and stage directions were written so well that the characters and the setting came to life readily. Congratulations on the Sauk Production!

I had the privilege to watch and listen to DISCARDS at The Sauk’s New Plays in Development program. It is a sweet script with a setting that is as charming as all the characters are in it. It is refreshing to see senior characters that are fully developed and a romance between them. A romance that you will root for the whole time. I find that I would rather watch a production of this rom-com than any you find on any streaming service. I hope that DISCARDS makes your heart as warm as it did mine.

It's rare these days to see a play that centers senior characters in such a loveable, energetic, and positive way. It's rarer even to see a play where I root for every character, regardless of their age. Yet make no mistake -- even though Discards is a solid romcom of a play, there's also meaty conflict, twists & turns, and character development for days! Any theater would be lucky to include this in their season, and I hope to see it popping up across the country as often as it deserves.

Irresistible from the discovery of the adult videos in the box, watch this become a mainstay on theatre stages across the country. It has everything - meaty roles for senior performers, quick wit, loving bonds that cross generational lines and a love story at its center.
I was fortunate enough to watch a reading of DISCARDS at The Sauk Theatre in Jonesville, MI, in July 2025, and I fully expect it will receive a full production given the audience reaction. Weibezahl is a gem of a writer/human!
