Such lovely magical, witty repartee. I'll find myself quoting some of these lines: "in mind, we matter"..."Then say yes to the cupcake and no to constantly being polite." We all have times when we feel a bit lost and a nice game of "not every game is chess" played by our own rules and in the company of a Cheshire cat seems about just the right thing to me.

"Say yes to the cupcake and no to always being polite" A lovely exploration of the isolation and stuckness that happens all of often to people (especially women) who decide to always play by the rules - even in a game they don't really want to be playing. Bonus points for the wordplay that plays homage to Carroll's original playfulness.

Within The Garden Walls is a delightful, whimsical piece that blends fantasy and reality with grace. Ally and Cheshire's conversation offers a refreshing take on modern life, with the cat adding a clever layer. Wild’s lyrical style creates a charming, reflective story. A fun, unique read!

So this is a sweet little fantasy, lyrical and poetic, subtle and rhythmic. A cat and mouse game of solitaire and chess, and of gentle argument. I think this would make a great character study for students, and there's many ways to bring out the fantasy.
