  • Jennifer O'Grady: 37 ORIGAMI BEES

I love the absurdist humor of this short play with a mystery and character-interrupted songs packed in. Richter's play made me laugh out loud (and who doesn't need to laugh right now?). So much fun!

A fun short with a silly singing janitor who while, Monty-Python-like he keeps getting cut off, has been paying attention--well, sort of! Need a laugh? Stage this one.

  • Miranda Jonté: 37 ORIGAMI BEES

Absolutely ridiculous in the way that delightfully zany capers are. Quick and clever, a bit of 'who's on first,' energy with thoroughly likable characters. And the running joke on society is delicious.

  • Aly Kantor: 37 ORIGAMI BEES

You will delight in the silly characters in this mystery piece, who all take themselves far too seriously given the circumstances! I think my favorite part was the opening image, which was the funniest misdirect imaginable—watching the characters talk around it was a HOOT... but the callback to "Society" is certainly an honorable mention! Absurd from start to finish, this goofy, glorious play on genre will have you snorting and smirking and, yeah, maybe rolling your eyes at these funny folks!

A lot of fun to be had in this snappy short. Lovers of art will take additional delight in the running jokes. Clever and well done.

I laughed out loud several times reading this fast paced comedy about...society? So funny and what a great take on art and artistic wanna-BEES!

  • Philip Middleton Williams: 37 ORIGAMI BEES

This little dance of characters doing their night at the museum production is a gem. Wordplay, fun characters, snappy dialogue that reminds me of Beckett (the playwright, not the priest) and absurd situations gives us a honey of a play.

02.20.25 - With tongue firmly in cheek, Adam Richter has fun with creating a noir mystery AND art heist as we follow Janitor /Sleuth/Possible Docent Linus try to crack the case before the real thief gets away with the goods. The characters are a hoot, and the script has some funny exchanges. Give it a read.

A nifty little museum mystery. A painting, something to do with origami bees, is missing. Besides the mystery of what happened to the painting, there’s the mystery of what value we place on art. Adam Richter adds a fresh take to the title challenge and gives us a most welcome hero in Linus the janitor. Well done.
