FULL PLAY in Two Acts with intermission: This irreverent Christmas comedy blends three beloved holiday classics into a hilarious, high-octane theatrical experience. When barefoot New York cop Dodger McBain finds himself trapped in Knicker-Knacker Tower on Christmas Eve with East German terrorists led by the Alan Rickman-esque Hands Goober, chaos ensues. His only allies? An enthusiastic elf named Tubby who's convinced McBain is his father and a traumatized street cop who hasn't fired his gun in over twenty years.
Between bloody shoot-outs and hostage negotiations, McBain recounts heartwarming yet dysfunctional tales of love loosely based on the interconnected stories in "Love Actually" - from the Prime Minister falling for his "plump" assistant to a writer finding romance with his Portuguese maid. These stories are punctuated by show-stopping musical numbers from the Tiny Tim Chorus (definitely NOT Oompa Loompas for copyright reasons) and puppets engaged in decidedly adult activities.
With its heartfelt message about the true meaning of Christmas (family, kindness, inappropriate sexual relationships, and terrorist-killing), this play celebrates everything we love about holiday films.
