09.26.25 - I certainly enjoy a big old helping of miscommunication and the resultant chaos that ensues from it. This fun little exercise from Garrett Martin made me laugh out loud a few times. The wordplay is excellent and I'd love to see a couple of actors really sink their teeth into this script. Perfect timing would kill on this thing.

Oh yeah! This one not only had me laughing out loud, but actually bopping in my chair. And I do not bop easily. A great comic concept and totally original execution. I would love to be an audience member for the call and response. What a riot!

  • Miranda Jonté: Hired Hype

This play is an unexpected HOOT.It is a credit to Martin's skills in timing and rhythm that though I read the synopsis and knew the drill, I was laughing out loud on the first page. Hired Hype is, simply, a delight, and big, clean humor can be a tough find these days. A crowd (and reader) pleaser, hands down.

  • Steven G. Martin: Hired Hype

I love silly humor and Martin's "Hired Hype" is filled to the brim. A ridiculous misunderstanding leads to high-energy interactions that'll get the audience's juices flowing, then oh-so-dark comedy proves there's more than one way to skin a cat. This short comedy is a wild ride.
