I love that this script wastes absolutely no time dropping you directly into the action! It has a wonderful father/son dynamic that would be so fun for actors. The script is rounded out with taut beats and a tense environment that culminate in a skin-crawling, final reveal of the true nature of the text messages. This feels like the first 10 minutes of an X-files, in the best way, very cool and creepy!

I'm often drawn to environments in stories and thought this one, set in the woods, would be worth a shot. Pun intended. Mix in some humor and father/teenage son dynamics ("What do you find so glorious about going off into the woods with a gun?") and you've a terrifically tense horror short your audience will be buzzing about. (Can also see this as a short film, too--sorry purists out there!)

The forest is the perfect setting for a horror story, and it’s used to great effect here, ramping up the mystery that father and son have stumbled upon. At script’s end, there is a terrific surprise that shifts the tale into another, unexpected genre. A fun and eerie short!
