The playwright does a great job creating a character you root for at the beginning of his sentences and totally despise before he reaches the end of each. The cognitive dissonance is a trip. Bubba is the worst kind of hypocrite-- he’s one you would root for if you didn’t know better-- if you didn't know what was coming... but you hope... and just when you think he couldn’t get any worse, he drops his recruitment pitch. Well written tension for these trying times.
