I have NO IDEA how designers could accomplish the feats necessary to pull off a production of this deceptively simple horror play... but I have NEVER been more excited to find out! Even before that fantastic reversal, the language in the play is specific and visceral, allowing the theatre of the mind to bring the events outside of this classroom to life. It's tense, the stakes are high, and we immediately have a sense that things aren't what they seem, but the journey is gruesome fun! Love it!

Whooooaaa this short is an emotional rollercoaster! These poor frightened, hiding teens, that monologue about the moon, the ENDING! I don't want to give anything away. But oh boy, this was a wild ride.

What could make John Carpenter's The Thing even scarier? Acne. Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn's response to the PT horror prompt is an excellent tribute to a horror classic. Normally, I would say, "I'd love to see this staged!" But I don't know if I could handle the nightmares. Well done!

Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn perfectly captures the awkwardness of teens and the debate over popularity, while infusing it with a horror element so spectacular it takes all my restraint not to spoil the ending. "Here's the Thing" is a terrific horror short that would be an outstanding addition to any short-play festival. Bravo!

This was great. Was fortunate to hear it read aloud tonight and marvel at how Floyd-Priskorn manages to make the Carpenter-esque setting both sweet and disturbing -- just brilliant.

Oooh, so fun! Floyd-Priskorn's spooky, suspenseful short play is a thriller, mystery, horror play, love story and coming of age story all rolled into one and with surprises in store too. So well done!

"Beautiful like the moon." Such a deeply moving and wonderful compliment! Such terror!! "Here's The Thing" is a horror short that has it all - familiar but creepy setting, potential love match, undefinable monster, ratcheting tension - and it's a lot of fun! Would love to see this staged.

What fun! High School and Horror! YA and gore! A wonderful short piece with glistening dialogue, fun characters and a story that hits all the notes! I'm so impressed with the cleverness!

This is a terrific short horror play, one that works at multiple levels. The tension is there throughout, as two teens bond during a crisis. For me, the reveal was an unexpected kick to the head, and it was only then that I understood the wonderfully clever title.

I adore the cleverness of the title. As someone who is a sucker for the horror genre, this feels like an arm (no pun intended) of RL Stine's GOOSEBUMPS. A little shocking and scary for the younger set, and absolutely spot on perfect in tone. Fun, horror, twist. I'd include this in a Halloween line up with glee.
