Simple staging but tons of fun, this when is waiting to be staged now.

This play starts out feeling like a weird "I'm back in school, and it's the day of the test" nightmare, then warps into something much more compelling! The uncanny world of the play becomes more and more detailed and specific as the story goes on, with a charming reveal and a shocking, very clever, and theatrically satisfying reversal! This is the best of sci-fi on stage: intellectually engaging, deeply human, and simple to stage with your standard theatrical toolbox. And it's funny, too!

Intelligently written short dealing with time travel using a unique interesting premise. Nice twist at the end. If you’re a fan of well-written intriguing dialogue, you’ll like this. If you’re a fan of the Twilight Zone, you’ll love this. If you like baseball - especially the Cubs, this will blow your mind. Smart fun!

This short play is so, so clever! The premise is such a good one, and then just when you think you get where things are going, you don't at all! I was wondering how Kyle Walker would ever stick the landing, but then the landing is perfect, too. What an original short.

This is so cool! Like finding a lost episode of The Twilight Zone. When it becomes clear what the Applicant is applying for, I immediately had the same thought as the Monitor. But Kyle Walker took us in a more humane and relatable direction. I may quibble about the best game 7 in World Series history, but otherwise this is perfection.

I love, love, love a time travel play and there certainly aren't enough of them! But Kyle Walker's two hander here is more than a sci-fi romp - it explores some profound questions of humanity, philosophy, and compassion. And the ending just knocks it out of the park... pun intended! Nice work!

I adore a sharp sci-fi short play, and KYLE WALKER "Time's Up, Pencil Down" does not disappoint. The thoughtful banter, the perfect pacing, the mysterious actions and reactions... everything is here. Excellent.

Time travel sci-fi is such a tricky genre but Kyle Walker nails it with this short play. Rather than getting bogged down with the "science" of how, Walker wisely focuses on the danger of "when" and "why". This tight script will keep you engaged and challenged, with a great twist ending. Well done!

Like all great sci-fi, this is a powerful examination of humankind/humanity. A futuristic tale that would be easy to stage. A mind-bending play that asks questions and provokes thought!
