This is a shockingly impactful piece. The set-up is deceptively simple, but the payoff is huge. Shades of very relatable human struggles exist in these characters and in these lines. It is not so uncommon to feel like you need the flame, and a good friend is a priceless treasure. Beautifully done.

A beautiful play about friendship and the hope that comes from pulling a loved one out of the pits of despair. A fantastic play; Bug gives Moth (and us) the light when we need it most.

Everyone needs someone like Bug in their lives. Someone to safely light the way even in the darkest moments. Bug’s gentleness and reassurance when communicating with Moth during their fragile state is absolutely beautiful. We need more fireflies in the world.

This extremely well-written and moving piece delivers an enormous impact despite its entomologically sized package.

The imagery of this piece reminds me of Blanche DuBois: "Her delicate beauty must avoid a strong light. There is something about her uncertain manner, as well as her white clothes, that suggests a moth" and her self-destructive attraction to dangerous situations, much like this moth who is drawn to a flame which s/he believes is their only light, hope. Thankfully, a true friend in what can be a brutish world intervenes and they take on the future together one minute, one hour, one day at a time.

A beautiful piece. Wonderful moments. A message that's very much needed. I went from a lump in my throat to an audible gasp at one point. Thank you for this, Aly. Thank you for reminding us that we can be the light to others. And also reminding others that if they need the light, reach out to those that can provide it. Everyone is loved. We can be the ones to provide that love light as needed. Read this piece. I guarantee it will affect you as well. And this should be staged everywhere possible.
