She spends every day working in her dad's wig shop and listening to his stories, including her favorite, The Tale of the Wig Monster. One evening, when Anna comes face-to-face with the Wig Monster themself, she goes on the adventure - or advengture - of a lifetime. Along the way, she faces ferocious beasts, timid accountants, and astounding answers - both to life's greatest mysteries and to some very difficult math problems. A play for adults and children of all ages.

So funny, quirky and full of delightful anachronistic wordplay. You both had me at the sibling rivalry with brother Lewis Carol and dreams of being an accountant. It all works. How it all fits together is the fun part. An entertaining original, goofy and educational play for all ages -- even people 38 and older!

Read the title and guess what this play is about. Now read the summary and guess what this play is about. Heck, read the PLAY and guess what this play is about! YOU CAN'T, and that's what makes it such a delightful adVENGure! While it's totally consistent and cohesive, every line feels so charmingly irreverent you can't help but cackle! It is also educational! Young audiences will learn the definition of bureaucracy and also the singular form of "lice!" Mostly, though, they will laugh and laugh!

I enjoyed the hell out of Hell in a Handbag's staged reading of this epic play for young audiences. There lots of laughs, an epic journey filled with unusual characters that audiences will love, some lovely father-daughter moments, and sass that only a Wig Monster can provide. It's more than just "Lord of the Rings" meets John Waters, though. It's heart and humor of Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend and David Lipschutz that make this play shimmer.
