Molly, 16, believes there is not a single person, living or dead who understands her. She's reached the age where all her friends have grown fond of boys and dating and she has not. She is, however, very fond of books. Through this love for reading, she finds a friend in Amelia, an author from the 19th century who shares Molly's distaste for boys and her perspective on falling behind, loneliness, and love.
