05.08.26 - A fascinating study in character from Rachel Zake. We watch as a man attempts to prepare for a hearing with a client? Patient? who seems completely disconnected from the events that brought her here. Is he her doctor? Her lawyer? Whatever function he serves, we watch his dealings with this woman who has done something we find out late in the play are truly horrendous. And she may never realize it.

This psychological drama lured me in and never let me go. Rachel Zake's ominous atmosphere and complex characters create tension and a palpable sense of urgency, leading to a totally unexpected, wholly satisfying reveal. A dark exploration of the human psyche that made me smile when I finally grasped the relevance of its title.

A taut drama that expertly unspools its information, landing a twist that makes you question what is real. I saw a staged reading that completely drew me in and got everyone talking.
