DANIELLE WIRSANSKY had me at the line, "Because unlike some people, she understood branding." Just like lip-syncing for you life, these queens must prove which one is the rightful heir, and audiences will ADORE the competition of words! What fun this would be to costume and stage!

A sharp, fast 7 or so minutes of comedy. I found the dialogue is genuinely funny and realistic - I could imagine being there while the end is clever and somewhat unexpected. This play would be ideal for any festival wanting something that will keep the audience engaged and leaving them wanting more. Recommend.

I love a good funeral-gone-wrong story. This one is full of personality and machete-sharp dialogue! Excellent, surprising use of a Narrator, too!

  • Paul Donnelly: Dead Last Callback

Three vividly drawn drag queens compete to mourn their late drag mother in this dazzlingly witty short. Their venom is a delightful elixir for audiences. The final twist shows dear, departed Mother Malady to be the most venomous of all. Best known for her somber explorations of moral agency in the Holocaust, Wirsansky here displays a deft gift for character driven comedy. Let the barbed jokes fly!

"Glitter in the wound"! "The fishnet on the throat of conformity"! I won't forget these images any time soon:)) Their comedy works wonderfully, as does the reveal at the end

  • Dan West: Dead Last Callback

Three ambitious drag queens convene at the funeral of their iconic mentor to determine which up them shall be chosen to don her mantle and continue her legacy. As each of the trio battle to state their case and to achieve dominance and supremacy over there rivals, they all seem to forget that they are not the only ones in the room. And when things start to get a bit meta, all bets are off. A flamboyantly campy and downright funny short play.
