Led by Julia, the survivors have formed a tense semi-familial dynamic over their time together, but their bonds are tested when their only exit leading to the surface locks behind them. The survivors soon learn that their only hope in escaping from their new prison lies in uncovering the truth behind the bunker and its previous inhabitants... including one denizen who has stuck around, all these years later. Watching. Listening. Waiting.

A powerful element of Sam Heyman's writing is his ability to encompass the emotional responses of his characters into more than just words. They become a part of the place, and his plays evoke vivid imagery so that the audience is swept up in all of it. "home wear hart" uses this to great effect and the world he shoves us into and the story of these six souls trying to survive becomes more than just a test of wills. They held me from the start to the last moment.

As a science fiction enthusiast, I could not be more thrilled with this claustrophobic, seriously creepy concept and the potential it would bring to a staged production. The world building here is precise and unique, asking whether or not a world-ending event could actually be an opportunity for reinvention and new life. The pages leading up to the end of Act 1 gave me chills, leading into a fascinating pivot that breaks open the play’s central question.
