  • Aly Kantor: It's like the beach that makes you old except it's a bathroom and it changes your gender

Gender euphoria! And Aly euphoria! Damn, I loved this tiny play - it's clever, theatrical, AND trans affirming...and it would be absurdly easy to produce! Weirdly, I think it would even be educational for some audience members, and I anticipate a few university auditoriums turning into "the theatre that changes your gender" for some individuals (and GOOD FOR THEM!). Just an amazingly crafted and charming short!

07.04.26 - What an idea with endless possibilities here. Dan Prillaman has come up with something so fun for the stage, that I can't see how it could miss. Actors would have an absolute field day with playing around with their gender identities in this way.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: It's like the beach that makes you old except it's a bathroom and it changes your gender

This is so fun and I can imagine the staging being fast paced and hilarious. The end smacks with truth and...joy! The bathroom giveth and taketh and giveth some insight as well!

  • Alexa Schoffel: It's like the beach that makes you old except it's a bathroom and it changes your gender

I'm obsessed with this concept and the execution is brilliant. It's fun, easy to stage, and surprisingly sweet. Already excited to reread this!

Hilarious stoner short play that is WAY MORE than that description I just painted. DANIEL PRILLAMAN has tapped into something earnest, open, and very human. DUDE... someone produce this!

  • Mathew Green: It's like the beach that makes you old except it's a bathroom and it changes your gender

Ridiculous, outrageous, profane, and wholesome, all at the same time. A beautiful short comedy about friendship, understanding, acceptance, drugs, self-knowledge, and love. It makes complete sense that a play that appears to be one thing at first glance would contain multitudes of meaning.

I started to write "Well, isn't this adorable", then realized it might come off snarky. But I mean it sincerely: this IS adorable. A genial stoner comedy that's genuinely funny, and distills a currently hot-button, allegedly complicated notion down to its easy-to-grasp essentials. A winning comedy that doesn't traffic in trauma or despair -- just people, finding what feels right and what doesn't, and realizing the promise of possibility.
