←Recommendations of We Beseech Thee

So, the whole world's falling apart, but at least when we commiserate with our friends we know we're on the same page and praying for the same miraculous deliverance, right? Well, "We Beseech Thee" might disabuse you of that notion, as two women inadvertently unleash a Biblical plague upon the land (or at least a cruise ship) courtesy of a most unlikely (to put it mildly) Biblical messenger. Mordantly hilarious gonzo fun.

"We Beseech Thee" is incredibly fun, poignant, and startlingly accurate to our times (including the dead-but-not-dead spirits coming back to haunt us) all at the once. With sharp dialogue that feels easy yet oozing with humor, this is an absolute joy for anyone to perform and/or see performed.

WWJD? I have no idea. But I know what LDF would do: give us a completely bonkers satire so we can enjoy some laughs while the world goes to pieces around us. And I’m so grateful for opportunities such as this to enjoy her unique brand of humor. Amen.

If I've said it once, I'll say it again: I will always be a sucker for satire. Especially when it's well written and biting. Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend, with "We Beseech Thee", has once again proven herself to be more than qualified to deliver such a work. Comic, caustic without being abrasive. And so relevant. Nicely done!

WE BESEECH THEE shows again that Lisa is one of the funniest playwrights out there. I'm reading it wondering why I'm laughing out loud which I rarely do from reading plays. Maybe it's that Jennifer holds firm to what sanity she (and we) have left in this mad world. I love it that she has school kids to pick up at 3 pm, protects her carpet, and defies the murderous solutions of the guest and his facilitator Melissa. Perhaps best is the topical motive for the seance to begin with. [7-14-26]

This play caught me up and whisked me along so effortlessly. Zany but grounded characters, a beautiful twist, and a breakneck pace. Completely exhilarating. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This play is so fun! Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend has given us such a hilarious play that mixes both American politics and physical comedy that transcends into the summoning of a notorious criminal who loves to eat cheese! I would love to see this genius piece be produced! Anyone have any cheese? Great work Lisa!

You guys. Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend's brain is a place I want to visit. Because it puts out hilarious, messy, high-concept, humane and delightful plays like the reverently irreverent WE BESEECH THEE, which is a delight from start to finish. Its mixture of the wondrous and the banal is comedy gold, its characters and their motives deeply relatable. May a thousand productions bloom.

Here comes Lisa, writing plays that only Lisa could write, and that the world is lucky enough to enjoy! The rapport between the characters is delightful, the physical comedy is hilarious, the twist is next-level bonkers, and the heart at the center speaks to everyone suffering through this moment in American politics. I, too, am excited to get cheese. And I am excited for the world to experience this play, which left me grinning from ear to ear!

WE BESEECH THEE is classic Dellagiarino Feriend: A study of a friendship between women who are at odds with each other. "The only course available to you at this stage is to savor fine cheeses
and punish the wicked" is merely one of the myriad lines I wish I'd written. A delight from tip to toe!
