Josh is called upon to have a serious conversation with his son, who's being asked to do something (play football) that he's clearly not comfortable doing. Instead of being "macho Dad," Josh relays a story about a time he was cajoled into doing something he didn't feel comfortable doing. There were consequences. He learned his lesson and wisely passes it forward to his son, in a tender way. Taube's ability to write relatable stories shines through in this beautifully written short monologue.
