A beautiful and heart wrenching piece about the children affected by immigration policies as their lockers are cleaned out. Well done.

  • Maximillian Gill: CHARLIE: A SCHOOL JANITOR MONOLOGUE

A beautiful piece that sneaks up on you. Maybe I had an idea of where it was going in the opening, but I was so wrong and so affected by where it eventually ended up. I also applaud Wyndham's insistence on representation in casting.

An extremely timely piece that encapsulates the heartbreak those that work in a school setting feel when immigration policies affect children.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: CHARLIE: A SCHOOL JANITOR MONOLOGUE

I love that Wyndham has given voice, and a role, to someone with Down syndrome, who is also, wonderfully, a school janitor with something to say. Wyndham's monologues are always so affecting. This one lingers too.

  • Michael Goodwin Hilton: CHARLIE: A SCHOOL JANITOR MONOLOGUE

This piece strikes a special nerve. As someone who has Downs Syndrome in his family, and who believes passionately in promoting awareness of the important gifts and abilities of the disabled, I cannot recommend this enough. Wyndham succeeds in empowering his character without any condescension or undue sentimentality. He calls forth a man from the margins to speak on behalf of those who are at risk of being forgotten entirely. The monologue is a triumph of both attitude and execution and should be performed in countless theaters across the country to help showcase the talent of so many unknown...

  • Rachael Carnes: CHARLIE: A SCHOOL JANITOR MONOLOGUE

This monologue is a stunning piece. In just a few short pages, Wyndham lifts our hearts and minds to such a relevant place, drawing us into the world of this warm, complex character. I am so appreciative of how the author defines terms for performance, and asks - no, demands - representation and inclusivity. Bravo.

  • Matthew Weaver: CHARLIE: A SCHOOL JANITOR MONOLOGUE

Wyndham staggers us in a very short period of time with a very powerful monologue, as Charlie's motivation slowly reveals itself to us. An excellent entry in an already very impressive and vast oeuvre, this is some of Asher's finest work.
