Aphrodite offers up pillow talk with her head resting on clouds. Mathew Weaver gives us the adults only version of ancient history from the goddess herself. Thoroughly enjoyable… or should I say pleasurable? What a show this would be to watch!

MATTHEW WEAVER paints the most exquisite portrait of a sensual interaction of the Goddess Aphrodite with the audience. “Aphrodite - An Intimate Evening with the Goddess of Love” presents a challenging but rewarding acting role for a talented actor. I was definitely intrigued and entertained by this gem. Good job!

"Positively lickable." That's one of many great lines from the goddess Aphrodite that graces the page and stage. The character, the play, everything about it is positively lickable. Sex positivity, polyamory, every kind of hookup imaginable is explored in this one-woman show that creates an intimacy through imagery and humor with the audience. Also it's a great revisit of the Greek myths from HS. Maybe, I hope, some pairs in the audience make out and answer the goddess's questions about sex. Probably the sexiest play on NPX.

An intimate conversation with the Goddess of Love. Weaver's script controls the scene with well-told, familiar stories and musings on new, thought-provoking questions. I enjoyed how the scenes were laid out and the amount of audience interaction!

It's a night you won't forget as Aphrodite challenges us with some lessons to teach! Fantastic!

With intimate knowledge of his mythology, Weaver gives Aphrodite a platform to let loose with beyond-tabloid worthy gossip about all the gods' private lives. In doing so, the goddess puts the things she stands for--love, pleasure, and procreation--in unwinnable opposition and boldly challenges audiences to do the same.
