Yes! Reading this monologue gave me a caffeine high. Haha. Another very clear character yearning for something better but is stuck where she is. This would be so fun for my college students to use, there is great rhythm and cadence to play with!

Like so many of Asher Wyndham's characters, I want to bring Britney to my home -- feed her, give her a cool drink, and a hug. Britney is a fighter and she will be an awesome mom. But she needs a break! Much love to all the Britneys out there. Thank you, Asher, for reminding us who is behind the counter and behind the forced smile.

10.12.24 - A no-doubt caffeine fueled rant about the indignity of working as a barista, is behind this gem of a monologue by Asher Wyndham. (But then, aren't they all gems?) Britney is 4 months pregnant, working multiple jobs and still can't make ends meet. Who among us can't identify on some level with that? It's burningly honest, though-provoking and meant to make you take it easy the next time you pull up to a drive through with a bad attitude. Britney has it a lot harder than you do.

I love how Asher Wyndham immerses the audience in the world of his characters. In "BRITNEY, BITCH BARISTA" we all join Britney inside her hot, cramped Fotomat booth of a coffee stand. It is uncomfortable, sweaty, rage-inducing and thought-provoking. And so is the monologue.
This is one of my favorite Wyndham monologues. Please, someone produce this.

Wow, Britney is such a character, she's fun, sarcastic, witty, clever, but also so very tired and desperate to make enough money in tips to fend for her expectant child and boyfriend. Reading this I felt a little guilty for laughing along with her, because her plight is tough. Suffice to say this will be a great monologue for a talented, aspiring actor.
Also, I was waiting for Will.I.Am to make an appearance....

A look inside trying to make it as a barista in a drive-thru coffee shop as one loses all hope and faith in the opportunities in our country. Well done.
