My work centers the celebration, reflection, and showcasing of the queer community, with an emphasis on queer, Latine/x stories. Recent directing credits include HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH (Shotgun Players), the West Coast Premire of C. Julian Jiménez's LOCUSTS HAVE NO KING, The World Premiere of Nick Malakhow's A PICTURE OF TWO BOYS (New Conservatory Theatre Center) and the World Premiere of Tom Swift's A MARRIAGE (TheatreFIRST).

Previously, they were the Director in Residence for New Conservatory Theatre Center, a two-year recipient of the National New Play Network’s (NNPN) Producer in Residence Program, a member of SDC Foundation's Observership Class, and most recently, the Artistic Producer for Marin Theatre Company. Richard is a founder for Epic Party Theatre, where he produced and directed LOVE IN THE TIME OF PIÑATAS by Baruch Porras Hernandez at Z Below. He is a graduate of the Theatre School at DePaul University.

They are actively relocating to Chicago in 2024.
