Lolly Ward grew up in Bethesda, MD, and moved west to attend Stanford University, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's in English and Creative Writing. As a member of The Actors' Gang theater, she opened Tim Robbins's Embedded in Los Angeles and toured with it to London and New York, where Robbins directed a film version at the Public Theater.
