Chelsea (20s) is an anxious social media whiz with a chronic illness, P.O.T.S, who works as an intern for Yummy Food Magazine with her co-worker and friend Morgan. She’s literally haunted by her anxiety as anthropomorphic thoughts and wants everything in her life to be under control.

When their boss Erica offers them the opportunity to apply for a new job, they both decide to take the shot. To apply, they have to write a legacy review about the Waffle Haus reopening. Chelsea and Morgan are stunned to discover the restaurant has been transformed into a “Breakfast Theatre” show. However, when Chelsea learns that Erica wants their review to completely destroy the waffle haus chef’s reputation, she decides to throw down her moral compass to get the job.

After sneaking into the Waffle Haus, Chelsea bonds with the chef, Benny, who only wants his father’s legacy to continue on (he was the previous owner). Eventually, Chelsea and Morgan fight about the ethics of the assignment, and Chelsea battles her anxiety to do what’s right, instead of what’s easy.

Winding up in the hospital, Chelsea learns that she has to listen to her anxiety to actually manage it. With renewed purpose, she decides to work with Morgan to crowdfund $10,000 to save the Waffle Haus and preserve it as a community staple.

Rounding up her friends, family, and co-workers, Chelsea discovers that it takes a village to fight for what you want - and that growing pains may not be easy, but if you work together, you can do anything.

This musical has themes of work/life balance, medical trauma, unconscious ableism, recovering from illness, competition versus collaboration, and changing your dreams.

This musical has music stylings from modern musical theatre, pulling influences from rock, pop, and jazz.
