Dillon Christopher Chitto

Dillon Christopher Chitto is a Chicago-based Mississippi Choctaw, Laguna, and Isleta Pueblo multi-award winning playwright originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Raised in a community deeply rooted in art, culture, and tradition, Dillon draws on those values in his storytelling. His work blends Indigenous perspectives with contemporary theatrical forms, using narrative to preserve and explore cultural identity.

However, when speaking with former seminarians about their experiences, it seems to be either, "best time of my life" or almost like soldiers coming home with scars. The Seminary is a look at life in a conservative Roman Catholic seminary, from classes, and communal policing, to the priests in charge and life...

There are many ideas of what the Roman Catholic seminary is like, or should be like from the public. However, when speaking with former seminarians about their experiences, it seems to be either, "best time of my life" or almost like soldiers coming home with scars. The Seminary is a look at life in a conservative Roman Catholic seminary, from classes, and communal policing, to the priests in charge and life after. This play is comprised of actual interviews with former seminarians who have agreed to give their candid opinions to the playwright, who also attended the seminary for four years right out of high school.
